A-GRASS 2025: Day 2 in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam


My second day in Vietnam, attending the A-GRASS 2025 event, was a vibrant blend of cultural immersion, culinary exploration, and meaningful connections. The day was filled with memorable moments that showcased both the warmth of Vietnamese hospitality and the spirit of international collaboration.
Sesan Restaurant: A Warm Welcome
The evening began at Sesan Restaurant, a renowned dining spot in Ho Chi Minh City, known for its inviting ambiance and lush, tree-lined setting. The entrance, adorned with glowing lanterns and a welcoming sign, set the tone for an unforgettable night. The restaurant’s open-air design, surrounded by greenery and soft lights, created an atmosphere perfect for mingling and relaxation

A Taste of the Mekong: Freshwater Delicacies

Inside the restaurant, I was captivated by the sight of a large freshwater fish in an aquarium, likely a Mekong catfish—a staple in Vietnamese cuisine. This display highlighted the restaurant’s commitment to serving fresh, local ingredients, and offered a glimpse into the region’s rich aquatic resources


Cultural Night: Tradition and Camaraderie
The highlight of the evening was the A-GRASS 2025 Welcome Dinner and Culture Night. Delegates and guests donned traditional attire, celebrating the diverse heritage of the Asia-Pacific region. The stage, decorated with balloons and a vibrant backdrop, set the scene for group photos and cultural presentations. The sense of unity and pride among participants was palpable, as everyone came together to share stories, laughter, and traditions



A Feast to Remember

Dinner was a true culinary journey. Our table was filled with an array of Vietnamese dishes, including a steaming hotpot at the center, fresh noodles, dipping sauces, and a selection of desserts. The meal was not just about food, but about sharing—passing dishes, exchanging stories, and building friendships over every bite. The lively atmosphere in the banquet hall reflected the success of the event in fostering networking and collaboration among researchers and professionals from across the region
